SEO TECH RANK · Analytics & Reporting

Analytics & Reporting

Understand website activity and enquiries through clear definitions, consent-aware tracking and useful reporting.

Clear priorities. A scope agreed with you.
UNDERSTAND THE SERVICE

A clearer approach to Analytics & Reporting.

Analytics and reporting help answer practical questions: which pages bring relevant visitors, where important journeys break and what can be connected with an enquiry. The first step is to define the decisions the business wants to make.

A dashboard should not conceal differences between platforms. Ad accounts, analytics tools and lead records may use different attribution methods and time windows. We document what each number means before combining it into a monthly report.

For the wider organic-search plan, see Search Engine Optimization (SEO). For campaigns reaching people who are actively searching, explore Google Ads (PPC). For qualification and the enquiry handoff, review Lead Generation.

PROBLEMS & PRACTICAL SOLUTIONS

The problems we work through with you.

Start with the issue you are seeing. We connect it with a practical next step and agree what belongs in your project.

THE PROBLEM · 01

The same enquiry is counted more than once

Multiple tags, repeated success events or page reloads can inflate activity and mislead campaign decisions.

OUR APPROACH

Inventory the tracking setup and define a single event contract. Test the actual journey, including errors and reloads, then document the source used for each reported measure.

THE PROBLEM · 02

The dashboard is full of metrics without a question

A team receives charts but cannot tell which change deserves attention or which number reflects a real business result.

OUR APPROACH

Organise reporting around acquisition, useful engagement and confirmed outcomes. Add context, a change log and the next decision instead of treating every percentage movement as a finding.

THE PROBLEM · 03

Tracking sends information that should remain private

Form values or personal details can enter event parameters, URLs or page titles through an over-broad setup.

OUR APPROACH

Review the data being sent and remove unnecessary personal information. Configure consent-related behaviour as required and verify the approved measurement rather than copying tags blindly.

DELIVERABLES

What the agreed scope can include

Confirm included work, access, ownership and ongoing costs before implementation.

01

Measurement brief

Map business questions to a limited set of clearly defined observations.

02

Tag and consent review

Check ownership, exclusions, duplicate tags and visitor choices.

03

Event validation plan

Test agreed actions in the authorised reporting account.

04

Reporting with context

Explain available data, limitations and the next questions worth investigating.

HOW WE WORK

From a clear brief to a checked implementation

A practical workflow with review and approval points.

01

Understand

Review the offer, current setup and business requirements.

02

Agree

Define scope, responsibilities, access and costs.

03

Build & verify

Check agreed scenarios and explain the handover.

THE BUSINESS CONTEXT

What the work is designed to support.

The purpose behind the activity, explained in practical terms.

01

Shared definitions

Reduce confusion about what a lead, visit or campaign action means.

02

Visible limitations

Know where missing data or different systems affect the picture.

03

A clearer next question

Use reporting to guide a decision or a test.

HOW WE PLAN THE WORK

A practical approach for today’s requirements.

GA4 reporting uses events and key events, while advertising platforms can maintain their own conversion definitions. Google prohibits sending personally identifiable information to ordinary Analytics collection. We review the supported setup and permissions before proposing advanced measurement or data connections.

BEFORE WE START

Inputs, measurement and clear boundaries.

01

What to prepare

Identify the decisions to support, existing account owners, consent requirements and available lead records. Share approved access and a list of tags or integrations already installed.

02

How we review the work

Test the event definitions and data destinations, then review trends with clear attribution limits. A useful report distinguishes observed events, inferred explanations and verified business outcomes.

03

What needs a separate agreement

Subscription fees, legal advice, advanced warehouses and customer-data integrations are separately scoped. We do not enable tags or share personal data just because a reporting feature exists.

BEFORE YOU START

Analytics & Reporting: useful answers

Understand the scope and limitations.

Can analytics record every visitor and sale?

No. Consent, blocking, device changes and offline activity create gaps. Explain those limits when interpreting the reports.

Can you fix missing historical data?

Not always. Information that was never collected may not be recoverable. We explain the available history and where a new measurement period needs to begin.

Does adding a tag prove tracking works?

No. Verify the tag, consent state and actual events in the account. A configured ID is not evidence of correct reporting.

Does adding a tracking ID mean analytics is working?

No. Test consent and actual events in the intended account. Configuration is not proof that the right data was received.

Why do Google Ads and Analytics show different totals?

They can use different attribution models, event definitions, time windows and consent-related data. A difference is not automatically a broken tag. We compare definitions and test implementation before interpreting the totals.

Does a dashboard show the full customer journey?

Only the information available from the connected systems. Privacy choices, missing integrations and offline activity can leave gaps that need context.

Should form names, emails or phone numbers go into GA4?

No. Keep personal form values out of analytics events. Use fixed event names and appropriately limited non-personal context.

Can analytics see every customer journey?

No. Consent, blocking, device changes and offline activity limit visibility. Reports should explain those gaps.

What tools will you use?

We choose an approach after reviewing your current systems, access and requirements. Any additional software or implementation costs are agreed first.

Can you report enquiry names and phone numbers in GA4?

No. Use fixed event names and appropriately limited non-personal context instead of sending personal form values.

What happens before work begins?

We discuss your business, review the current situation and agree a written scope, responsibilities, timelines and fees. Implementation begins after that agreement.
